Exorbitant

$30 for a small piece of fish. You have got to be kidding!

Also brunch this morning. Tiny by standards but it was also significantly cheaper. The frijoles was a different touch.

Breakfast with the dog

Due to unforeseen circumstances this morning, I suddenly found myself with enough time to have breakfast at the cafe with my dog when initially I thought I would have to go hungry.

I decided to try out this tiny store/cafe that I always passed en route to soccer training.

The food was simple but expensive and not particularly fantastic, but I really like the layout of the cafe with its 1940s feel to it. They even had a box of blankets at the doorway for patrons who brought dogs with them to dine.

The boss also came out to give sone biscuits to my dig though u have to admit I was slightly embarrassed that the dog was so fussy but secretly proud that she did gobble anything that was given to her by complete strangers.

It is a nice quaint place to hang out on lazy afternoons. I miss the days in medical school where I would breakfast at cafes with my dog, I reading my magazine and she being entertained as the world goes past.

Champions!

We won the futsal finals! Yay!

It was a very intense game though. Clearly emotions were running high as there was a significant amount of violence and swearing at one another.

I was playing in defence a change from up front. But because we were in a mixed league, I couldn’t keep up with the pace of the guys; I wasn’t up to the standard of dribbling and fancy footwork required. I have never been involved in so many collisions in my life. One was so bad that had the opponent player not made a grab for me, I would have smashed to the ground, backwards. I have to admit though, that I’m performing very well in defense, at reading and anticipating the movements of the strikers. Maybe I should play in defence a bit more…

Celebratory drinks and dinner at the pub.

Kick back the shoes and relax

1am. Sunday. I finally had a night with no activities planned and no morning appointments to get through the next day.

I did what I have been wanting to do for a long time – grab a couple of beers, rent some DVDs and ordered pizza. Hmmm.

Jim bean, Guinness stout and apple cider.

Work has been terrible and it has been a long time since I craved for a beer.

I wish I have more of such nights.

Brunch escapades

I have decided that I enjoy brunch and I love having brunch with friends. I think I may make it a point to brunch at featured cafes just to get top notch coffee and a big breakfast.

A thing about the cafe we went to today – it is on a bustling bohemian street, very happening and lively. Inevitable the talk about moving to a new address crops up. The Housemate and I have been talking about moving to a younger location (less family oriented, more trendy and bohemian and where yuppies tend to hang out) for years now but never quite dare bite the bullet. Maybe next year will be a good year.

Plus the area we went for brunch today was where we initially viewed a house to rent. Since I’m considering applying to work in a city hospital, it may be a good time to move yet. Plus all my recreational activities are centered in that area – it will cut my traveling time.
